Business Design Using Applied Business Architecture

Course Overview

This hands-on four day course interweaves elements of theory and practice to provide attendees with an interactive learning experience in applying business design (design, architecture and agile) to the development of an investment roadmap and plan. The course is suited for those individuals looking to gain an understanding of:

  • Where to apply design, architecture and agile to optimise time-to-market
  • How to design business and operating models to create and capture value
  • How to create more alignment in your investment portfolio
  • How to use strategic tools, capability based planning and business anchor models to develop the building blocks of the organisation
  • How to link strategy and execution with effective planning
  • How to develop a view of your investment that is based upon desirability, viability and feasibility

IIBA members are eligible to receive 30 PD Hours or CDUs once they have attend this course to go towards their certifications.

  • Use a strategy game board to identify what capabilities to focus on
  • Build an operating model using capability based design
  • Determine feasibility and viability of investment efforts based upon complexity and value
  • Re-prioritise where to invest your capital across your project portfolio
  • Consolidate your architecture into a single summarised roadmap view
  • Build combined views to represent a variety of different concerns
